In Car

If there's anything you need inside a car - it's music!

Now, you can simply switch on the radio but you may not want to lsiten to an inane DJ spouting on, it may well play music you don't like and then you resort to channel switching. Far better to take your music with you on your iPod and play that in your car!

There are several ways to do this, depending on what you want to do, how important the sound is to you and how much you want to spend.

The easiest and one of the cheapest is to get a car kit. These start at a few dollars although you can pay a lot more for kits with more features.

Essentially, they simply connect the iPod to your car's stereo system, usually via an FM transmitter so you tune the radio to the channel. They can also charge it. Typically, they'll fit into a little holder which you attach to the fasci or dashboard.

Some kits aren't quite so DIY-friendly, and may require you hooking a cable into the car's audio system.

Interestingly, many car manufacturers include an iPod connection in their car so it's simply a matter of plugging your ipod into it, jsut as you'd connect it to your computer. Some cars even have an iTunes-alike interface so you use your iPod inthe saem way as you would at home.

If you have an older car with a cassette deck, there are cassette adapaters which take the audio output from the iPod and play it via the cassette player.

There are many wasy you can enhance your in-car listening, take a look around the site and see what's available.
